Florida Keys & Space Shuttle Endeavour's Blast Off


Florida Keys

(April 6-8, 2001) Prowled on down to Key Largo and stayed the weekend with Frank & Dink. It was a lot of fun cruisen with the top down ALL the way to Key West. The weather was in the mid-80's and sunny all weekend.

Picture 2 - Dink & I in the Driveway getting ready to cruise south on US 1. We cruised south from Key Largo to Key West (97 miles). The sights were amazing. We took a side trip to No Name Key looking for the little endangered Key Deer.

Picture 11 - The weather was nice for jet skiing. Mid-80's and sunny.
Picture 12 - Kim's 1976 Custom Harley Davidson. 1 of 4 top bikes at Daytona's Bike week. All the art work was done in cooper by Kim. What a beautiful bike. Kim has done copper sculptures all over the world.
Picture 13 - Male (left) and Female (right) Iguana's on the gas tank. There was a lot of detail & craftmanship in the bike.
Picture 14 - Iguana on the front fendor. What amazing detail on the Iguana.

Space Shuttle Endeavour's Blast off
The Shuttle Endeavour lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center Launch Pad 39-A on April 19, 2001 at 2:41pm EST, carrying a multi-national crew and a complex Canadian-built robotic arm to the International Space Station (ISS).
Endeavours crew composed of Commander Kent Rominger, Pilot Jeff Ashby and Mission Specialists Chris Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency, John Phillips, Scott Parazynski, Umberto Guidoni of the European Space Agency and Yuri Lonchakov of Rosaviakosmos.

(April 19, 2001) Images were taken inside NASA's Kennedy Space Center on the Causeway. Causeway is a restricted area to most civilians, it is 6 miles from lauch pad 39-A. Thanks to Pratt & Whitney's Liquid Space Perpulsion Division for the NASA Causeway passes. These Images seem farther away then seen my the naked eye.

Picture 3 - By now the sound is starting to reach us. Wow was it loud!

Picture 5 - It was a very calm day and therefore the very defined "smoke trail".
Picture 6 - Endeavour and it crew is traveling about 15,000 MPH!! Wow thats fast!
